Star Wars: The Last Jedi & Star Trek: Discovery
Sonequa Martin Green has been great to watch in her new role as Michael Burnham in Netflix's Star Trek Discovery which has just gone on hiatus after episode 9. Discovery has reinvigorated Strar Trek with fresh new technologies like spore drive, a racially diverse cast, interesting twists and turns in the narrative. It will be back in January 2018. Looking forward to the shows return next year. For Sci-Fi buffs that means next on the calendar is the much anticipated debut of Rian Johnson's rendition of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Anyone who has seen the movie Brick or Loopers will know to expect the unexpected in the Last Jedi. Rian will surely not disappoint.
I've just finished watching Season 1 and 2 of Stranger Things on Netflix. The Duffer brothers have done a remarkable job with this one. What impressed the most about this series is the authenticity. When they show the upside down for the first time, the feeling you get is how could they have known about this place? If you've ever been there in a nightmare or two as kid you'll know they're not making this stuff up lol, although it is stylized and adopted for television, falling ash, scary creatures and all. The way the directors integrate the two dimensions is intriguing and quite remarkable, interesting to watch. Atari game consoles but no mention of the Commodore 64? The C64 was also really popular back then. I'm looking forward to season 3.
